I love the way you write. You write so beautifully/candidly and your words express so much emotion and detail.

Thank you so much for your kind words. You have no idea how delightful it is to receive words from strangers (have we actually met before? how did you find my site?) - one of the reasons why I will never stop writing. :)

I love this so much. It's something I've tried to explain and couldn't ever quite articulate the way I wanted.

"If you can’t explain something simply, you haven’t fully understood it."

This one line just nails it.

I have two "blue-collar" parents but I'm college educated and working in the white collared world. My father likes to say that he's dumb because he can't speak the way "educated folk do". However, I recognize his skills and ability to solve problems and have learned from such. Learning fancy words doesn't make you smarter, it just alienates certain groups of people and thus limits your audience. If the point of communication is to spread ideas then why hinder that for the sake of a show?

Also - I'm totally lurking here due to the very thing you've brought up here. You keep it simple. You seem to say what you mean to say. And when I looked at your CV I was absolutely amazed because you simply don't write like one is expected to with such a background.

Also, your thoughts are interesting and motivate me to reply.

I've wondered for a while if love would exist in a "blank slate" environment. It's been rammed down my throat even before I really knew what the word meant. I recall being asked all the time when I was maybe around 10 years old if I had a girlfriend. Sure - I had plenty of friends who were girls. No - that wasn't what they meant so they'd try to explain and I'd suddenly feel inadequate.

I'm 25 and still kind of feel like love is an induced concept - but while appreciating the companionship it brings.

The first thing to sink deep in your heart is that you are asleep, utterly asleep! You are dreaming, day in, day out. You are dreaming sometimes with open eyes and sometimes with closed eyes, but you are absolutely dreaming. You are not yet a reality.

Yes, unless you are shocked, shaken to your very foundations, you will not awaken. This sleep has been so long that it has reached to the very core of your being; you are soaked in it. Each cell of your body and each fiber of your mind has become full of sleep. It is not a small phenomenon. Hence great effort is needed to be alert, to be attentive, to be watchful, to become a witness.

Look around yourself. You will see sleeping people all around: in the street, at the restaurant, in the market. They are sleeping because of the roles that this society has loaded them. Some of them think that they are mechanics, some of them think teachers, scientists, drivers...etc. Soon when they will awaken just before the moment they will die realizing they lived empty lives in vain. When their inner voice ask them who they were actually in life, they can not answer. Because they didn't have a chance to know themselves. Because they were asleep. So either "know yourself" or "die before you die" but wake up!
